President's MessageDavid Bressie
As we come to the close of this year I want to thank all of our members for helping out so much with all of the events and running of the Club.  I also want to thank our retiring Board Members for all of their efforts this year.  Brian Welsh has run tennis events and been in charge of our finances.  He has always been very level-headed and thoughtful in his decision making and has set up PTC well for the future.  Angie Kwan was in charge of social and has been our secretary for the past year.  She worked tirelessly planning great social events in 2018 and has always been a very thoughtful contributor in our Board discussions.  Last but not least, a big thank you to Peter Stevenson who has done so much over the past three years on the Board.  While taking care of a busy membership year in 2019, he was also our President in 2018.  Now that I know how much that entails, we all owe Peter a huge thank you for his time and efforts guiding the club during his tenure.

I look forward to working with our incoming Board Members Kate Belding, Reynold Harbin and Gene Trainor who will begin in January.  Happy Holidays to everyone and I hope that you can make the holiday party this Saturday night at 6:00pm!

A few spa rule reminders:
  1. There is no jumping, toys or food permitted at any time near the spa.
  2. Adults must be actively supervising children under 14.
  3. Please remember adults have priority in the spa at all times.
Now that we are fully in the rainy season a few reminders:
  1. Please hang up rollers and squeegees on the east side of the courts.  The rollers and squeegees get out of shape and unusable when not hung up properly.
  2. Use the beach towels located next to the washer/dryer in the tennis office to wipe down moisture on lines.  Please do not use the white bath towels, they will not come clean once they are used on the courts and have to be disposed of.

We had one last tennis event in November - Family Tennis Day -  organized by Pablo and team.  It turned out to be a very fun event with kids and parents thoroughly enjoying themselves on the courts and in the clubhouse for pizza and prizes afterwards.  Hopefully this will be the start of another great tradition at the Club.  It was good to see so many enthusiastic young tennis players.

Thanks to everyone for their help, participation and support in all the tennis events this year.  Our Club's tournaments are a great way to connect with fellow members and participate in both friendly and more serious member rivalry, or to watch some great tennis.  Many of the photos from this year's events are being displayed on the TV over the bar in the clubhouse.  Please email me any pictures you may have from this year and we'll add them to our collection!

Please join me in welcoming our newest member families to PTC:

Young Chung
Young and his wife, Jennifer Soyun Chung, and his son, Oscar Sungho Chung, live in San Mateo.  Young is a very accomplished player - rated 4.5 - and has been playing on our PTC Men's 4.5, 9.0, 8.5 and 9.5 teams over the past year or two.  Jennifer and Oscar are also playing tennis and have been taking lessons and are interested in progressing their games through additional lessons at the club now that they are members.  Young played tennis in college, in fact, playing with Ryan Clark as doubles partners and has had a love for the game all his life.  Young and his family are also members of PGCC where they got to know the Bressie family.  Both sponsors - as well as everyone else that has met Young - comment about what a great guy he is - personable, social-able, friendly - and that he and his family will make a great addition to the PTC community.  Sponsors: Bressie, Clark

Kimberly Kletter
Kim and her husband Jason live in San Mateo along with their two kids - Zachary (age 19) and Ronny (age 16).  Kim is 3.0 player currently and plays on the PTC 3.0 Ladies team.  She is playing 2-3 times a week currently and is very passionate about the game.  Jason also plays 1-2 times a week and plays on the men's 3.0 team here at the Club.  Both Kim and Jason have been frequent guests at the club to play socially with their sponsors and other members over the past several years.  The Kletters have been very active in the community - volunteering their time for many causes.  Kim works as a part-time social worker for the elderly and now that the kids are older has a lot of time to dedicate to tennis and the club.  Everyone who knows the Kletter's share that they are a lot of fun and will make a great addition to the Club.  Sponsors:  Sobel, Sage

Sad to see you go!   We will miss you....

As we wrap up another fantastic year at the club, I just wanted to extend on behalf of the entire membership another hearty welcome to all of our new members and their families that joined the PTC in 2019.  Wishing everyone a happy and safe Holiday Season!
